Synapse is a B2B banking software company. Through its partnership with traditional banks, it provides financial technology businesses easy access to core banking products. One of the main products Synapse offers is Account Aggregation, the process of authenticating an end user's identity by compiling bank account data. By having end users simply log into their bank accounts, Synapse instantly verifies whether or not the accounts belong to them.
As a UX Designer, my primary responsibilities on this project were user research, wire-framing, and visual design.
Through my research, I found that a significant portion of financial tech companies rely on chatbots to serve their customers. I identified a few key advantages a chatbot has over other types of interfaces and considered client, end user, and implementation perspectives.
My team and I designed and shipped a chatbot with an accompanying client-facing customization dashboard. See below for the most common flow:
Step 1: Choose bank and enter credentials
Steps 2 & 3: Enter MFA and link accounts
Using the customization dashboard, clients can brand the chatbot however they prefer. Customizable elements include colors, logos, buttons, and chat bubbles.
